FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Q.  What hours are children in attendance?

A.  Children arrive at Bainbridge between 8-9 AM and stay until 3:45-4 PM. Children are with us usually from three to five full days a week.

Q.  What is the tuition?

A.  2019-20 ACADEMIC YEAR (September to June):

                       FULL DAYS

              3 full days: $1045/m

             4 full days: $1326/m

             5 full days: $1600/m

Q.  Does Bainbridge offer financial aid?

A.  We strive for socio-economic diversity, and so we offer a sliding scale, assessed on a case by case basis. Typically about 30-50% of our families participate in the sliding-scale program.

Q.  How does the application process work?

A.  If you are interested in applying, please email us at bainbridgepreschool@gmail.com and request an application. We will send you an application form that you can print, fill out, and mail back to us along with a $25 deposit. Once we have your application and deposit, we will contact you to schedule a school visit and classroom observation. One parent/both parents make an initial visit to our school without bringing their child/children. We will begin informing families after March 1st whether we have space for their child for the coming school year. Before confirming your child’s enrollment if offered a space with us, we ask that they spend a partial morning with us to be sure it is a comfortable fit for everyone. And to reserve a space for your child, families are required to make a deposit that is 10% of the coming year’s annual tuition.

Q.  How old must my child be to attend?

A.  Currently, we are a classroom community made of 2, 3, 4, and 5 year olds. Our age range follows the needs of the returning group of children and families, and the school as a whole. We value our blended-aged classroom and will continue to create that kind of dynamism in our community.

Q.   I have heard that Bainbridge is a school that loves field trips.  What are some of these field trips?

A. Aside from the daily outings we engage in as mentioned above, for example, to the community garden or city parks, we are growing our Nature/Culture/Outdoors program. Over the past 6 summers, we have had the amazing opportunity to spend time at a 40 acre hay farm in Seekonk, MA -- hay fields surrounded by close to 200 acres of wilderness. That opportunity was possible because of  the generosity of two lifelong educators and stewards of the earth who welcomed young children coming to their property to explore and engage with the rich ecosystem of Jacobs Farm.
